The Artist Behind BluKatDesign on Etsy- Texture. Series Post #5
Meet the artist behind BluKatDesign on Etsy and learn my story of creating art from a young age to selling jewelry and ornaments on Etsy today. I will be posting little blurbs here and there this year so you can get to know me and my work a little better.
In my artistic journey, I’ve found a deep appreciation for textures alongside my love for color. As I mentioned in my last post in this series, color undoubtedly plays a significant role in my work but I also enjoy exploring the world of textures. Tyvek (from recycled priority mailers) is a super strong plastic fiber, provides a unique medium to work with. By painting and then heating interesting textures can be formed. Fabrics, yarn, and clay offer softer and more malleable tactile experiences. Experimenting with these materials allows me to create pieces that not only captivate the eye with their colors but also invite touch and exploration.
